Thomas Hardy Holdings

Thomas Hardy Holdings are a bottling and packaging manufacturer for the soft and alcoholic drinks industry. They currently operate form 2 sites in the UK, based in Burtonwood and Kendal.

 

Background:

After the retirement of their long serving health and safety consultant, Thomas Hardy were keen to get a fresh perspective on their health and safety culture over their sites. Omegas Enterprises were contacted with the idea to review, improve and implement new processes which would engage staff and make the business run more efficiently.

 

Solution:

The initial consultation was a discussion with management in order to get a full understanding of the business operation and their current level of health and safety. During this discussion, a full review was undertaken on the existing health and safety initiatives that had been implemented on site and the way in which employees engaged with these. On agreement of the proposal put forward by Omegas, the new health and safety programme started.

The Thomas Hardy project is on-going and consists of a huge range of elements, including face mask fit testing, Work Place Noise Assessment, H&S training sessions, 24/7 advice line, occupational health programme, Fire Risk Assessment, Accident Investigations, site tours, tool box talks, DSE Assessments, PQQ’s and Supply chain assessments.

Omegas continues to work closely with management and staff to ensure the practises and procedures not only work for the business but also offer Thomas Hardy the best level of assurance possible.

 

Results:

The new policies and procedures implemented by Omegas has resulted in a more pro-active and positive approach to health and safety throughout the company.

Having realistic and efficient practises in place has led to a reduction in onsite accidents, greater employee engagement and the reassurance of ongoing support for management on all health and safety issues.
